About

About me …
I’m an artist and screenprinter
living and working in Wales.
My love of screenprinting
began in school
but it wasn’t until my children
were older that I had the time,
space and equipment.
I’ve been developing my screenprinting technique
over the past 10 years and
I now work in my studio in the garden where
all my work is produced.

Observation
Lillian was my mother’s middle name. Her love of being outdoors
and her keen observation skills have always been an inspiration for me.
Both my parents were always in the garden or taking me to local beaches
or botanic gardens. All of this seeped into me like osmosis and the result
is an eclectic mix of botanical observation and immersion in the
landscape around me.
From collecting blackberries and conkers to singing songs
about the weather and stories of their childhood adventures.
They created a world full of joy and wonder that I continue to
explore every day.
My love of plants has always endured and led me to study a degree in Botany, with a little marine botany thrown in.

Landscape
I live in Wales and love to travel around exploring
it’s beautiful landscapes.
I’m never far from inspiration.
Mountains and valleys, rivers and lakes.
Beaches and seascapes.
Vast skies and endless views.

GARDEN &
WILDLIFE
I love colour, shape and form.
Inspiration for which I find in abundance in my garden.
There’s always something new at any time of the year and gardens are a
haven for all sorts of wildlife.

WILDFLOWERS
I spend a lot of time out walking
and often come across wildflowers
in the most mundane places.
The side of the road, lanes, edges of pathways, clifftops.
Anywhere they can set seed and find space in those forgotten places.

All my prints start with original drawings.
I carefully plan my design and colour layers
before printing.
I paint each layer onto
the silkscreen by hand.
And print each colour one
layer at a time.
